Default How to install SS Brake lines

Ok this is pretty easy but i want to make sure you do this the right way.

Ok first as we found out make sure to have plenty of rags.
You don't want brake fluid all over your stuff it will eat through everything.

If you really want you can remove your body work if you don't want stuff leaking down on it. We had it off anyway because we did a oil change..

If you have 2 people it is nice and easy knowing what to do that is..

You can put the bike on a stand to get things going.

To take out the old lines remove all brackets that hold the lines in.
Now you are ready to remove your lines.
Next you can drain from your Calipers first. Leave the Brake cap on no need to take it off. Drain and unhook from calipers.

Make sure to have something to catch the oil in.
Now remove from your MC(Master Cylinder) Loosen it slowing until it drains down to your lower calipers and out to the drain pan.
Now remove from MC.

This is where you needs rags as well maybe to wrap around the bolts so you don't make a mess.(These are also call Banjo Bolts)
Take out old lines and put off to the side and wipe up all mess if any.

When you take the lines off don't squeeze the MC You will make a mess and get unnecessary air into the mc.

With the lines off you can now install your other ones make sure there the right ones and you have them in the right position.

Where the two lines connect to the master cylinder and Banjo bolts, make sure they do not angle in towards each other. Most lines will have a straight end and the other has a slightly bent end. You can put the straight end on first and the bent end on second. Just make sure you stack them so the bent end is pointed away from the other line.

Use new washers and bolts if your Lines come with them have them ready and hook them all up.

Once hooked up and this is important. Take the bike off the stand and lean it to the kickstand.

Now with the lines hooked Banjo bolts on hand tighten them for now.

Remove the cap if you have not to fill. Make sure bike is on the KICKSTAND.

Don't worry about the lines hanging down. Get them to the sides and let them hang over your drip pan or rags.

Now fill the MC let the oil drain down and out of each side This will help get rid of most of the air.
Once you see it drop install that side. It may shoot out of there fast then drip. It is time to hook it up.
This will take a minute or to.

With everything hooked up bike on stand now it's time to bleed the lines.

First start with the MC
To do this pump the brakes and hold it in unscrew the bolts (Banjo bolts).
These are the bolts that hold your lines that run down to your Calipers.

When i say unscrew pump the brakes maybe 10 times fast then hold it in unscrew the bolt very slightly until you see some come out.
Do this about 5 times you should feel the brakes getting hard.

Don't worry when you squeeze and undue the bolt (Banjo blot) That the level comes to your bars that normal.
Do this 5 times until air is out and brakes feel normal.

No go to the calipers do the same process there.

Pump the brakes hold them in open the bleed valve, you will again feel the brake come to the bar. Do this about 5 times for each side and you should be ready to enjoy your new lines.

If you have any questions please ask.
